The residency marks a significant deepening of Belongó’s presence in the East Harlem community as it advances plans for Casa Belongó\, a future performing arts center to be built just blocks away. Through this collaboration\, both organizations affirm a shared commitment to artistic innovation\, cultural preservation\, and community-driven programming that reflects the breadth of creativity from across the Americas. \nKicking off the residency\, Arturo O’Farrill and the GRAMMY Award-winning Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra present a powerful look back at two decades of groundbreaking performances across the city.
