Currently on tour for her seventh album Halo\, Juana offers a unique blend of abstract electronics layered with hints of alternative rock\, twisted country\, and dark blues. \nFREE ADMISSION. Luria Foundation.\n \nABOUT JUANA MOLINA\nBorn in Buenos Aires\, Juana Molina first rose to fame in the 1990’s with her hit comedy sketch program Juana y sus hermanas. After achieving considerable success in television\, she set out to pursue her true passion: music. Molina gained popularity first outside of her native Argentina given the public’s hesitancy to view her as more than an actress\, but has come to be superstar of the indie-folk scene. Since her 1995 debut release Rara\, Juana Molina has put out seven studio albums\, garnering acclaim both domestically and internationally. With Tres Cosas ranking in the New York Times’ “Top Ten Albums of 2004” and 2013’s Wed 21 in NPR’s “50 Favorite Albums” of that year\, her atmospheric tunes have catapulted her to recognition. Drawing sounds and rhythms from various influences\, Molina’s genre bending sound has been inadequately compared to that of Bjork and Beth Orton. Juana Molina is a unique musical powerhouse\, currently touring her latest release Halo.
