SUMMARY:CHUS BURES: A Dialogue Between Art and Design
DESCRIPTION:With a professional career spanning over thirty years\, in which he has collaborated with contemporary artists and leading names in both the design and fashion world\, Spanish designer Chus Burés is partnering with El Museo del Barrio to commemorate NYC Jewelry Week 2018 and introduce his newly launched New York-based jewelry brand CHUS X CHUS. \nWith the mission to educate and promote jewelry as a vehicle and expression of artistic design\, from November 14 to 18\, the designer will host an installation at El Museo’s La Tienda presenting a highly curated selection of artisanal jewelry works\, and wearable artist’s jewelry in collaboration with modern masters. Chus’ ingenuity spans from collaborations with contemporary artists such as Louise Bourgeois\, Carmen Herrera\, Julio Le Parc\, Miquel Barceló\, and Tony Bechara to art directorial projects with fashion houses such as Loewe\, Agnés b.\, Maurizio Galante\, and Akris. \nIn addition\, from November 14 to 18\, 2018\, 3-5pm daily\, El Museo del Barrio welcomes visitors to meet the designer and learn about his inspiration and wearable works of art.
