SUMMARY:MANOS A LA OBRA | Ofrenda en Casa
DESCRIPTION:Create your very own ofrenda (altar) en casa! A central element in Día de Muertos celebrations in Mexico and throughout Latin America\, the altar includes a bright presentation of foods\, flowers\, personal items\, and calaveras (skulls) in remembrance of those who have passed away. Presented as a space to commemorate their lives\, it is believed that the dead return on this day (November 2) to celebrate their life and memories. Join us for a special art-making workshop by El Museo’s artist educators\, who will guide us in the creation of an ofrenda. Participants will also learn how to create  3D objects out of a simple sheet of paper. Recommended materials: 1 sheet of cardstock (options: cereal box\, sheet of paper)\, scissor\, glue\, tape\, colored pencils\, markers or crayons.
