Now he drinks too much\, works as a substitute teacher to pay the rent\, and mostly avoids his own reflection. Everything changes when he meets Yurlady\, a teenager from a working-class neighborhood in Medellín whose extraordinary talent reignites his ambitions. \nRather than offering a conventional mentorship story\, Un Poeta explores the complicated dynamics of generosity\, ambition\, and ego. With dark humor and a sharp\, deadpan tone\, director Simón Mesa Soto delivers a compelling character study that won the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. \nFree.
