All ages welcome. \nFREE ADMISSION | To RSVP\, click here. \n  \nDAY-OF SCHEDULE \nGallery Tours\nSOMETHING BEAUTIFUL: REFRAMING LA COLECCIÓN\n12:15pm; 1:15pm; & 2:15pm | Las Galerías\nJoin El Museo’s Museum Educators on a gallery tour of Something Beautiful: Reframing La Colección\, El Museo del Barrio’s most ambitious presentation of its unique\, complex\, and culturally diverse permanent collection in over two decades. \nStorytelling\nTHE COQUIES STILL SING \n12:30 – 1:15pm & 2 – 2:45pm | Black Box (3rd Floor)\nThe Coquies Still Sing is a powerful story about home\, community\, and hope\, inspired by the rebuilding of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria in 2017. Join author Karina González and illustrator Krystal Quiles in a read-aloud followed by an art making activity where participants will learn to draw a coqui in different forms. \nArt Making Workshop\nMEMORIES ON THE CLOTHESLINE WITH ARTIST NITZA TUFIÑO\n12 – 3:30pm | Los Talleres (3rd Floor)\nCreate a collective clothesline of memories with artist Nitza Tufiño. Inspired by Tufino’s Tenderetes (clothesline)\, the works are are vibrant and intricate tapestries that depict everyday scenes infused with personal memories and cultural significance. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own memory of the day using mixed media\, drawing and photography\, and are encouraged to add their memories to the communal clothesline. \nDance Workshop\nAFRO-PUERTO RICAN BOMBA WITH INDIRA CORDOVA \n12:30 – 1:10pm & 2 – 2:40pm | El Café\nCelebrate the vibrant rhythms and cultural heritage of Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba with Puerto Rican dance instructor Indira Cordova\, committed to keeping tradition\, legacy\, culture\, and music alive. During the workshop\, participants will be introduced to the essence of Bomba\, exploring its rhythmic complexities\, soulful melodies\, and expressive movements. \nMusical Performance\nJOSE TROMBONE & HIS CONJUNTO RUMBON \n4 – 5pm | El Teatro\nBest known for their iconic sounds of salsa gorda\, Jose Trombone & His Conjunto Rumbon present a lively performance with a heavy emphasis on the trombone\, that will transport you the golden era of salsa in New York City.
