As composer and producer of his albums\, Bataan is known for the fusion of rhythms influenced by Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music. The standard-bearer for boogaloo—the fiery fusion of Latin rhythms and gritty New York–centric soul music that exploded onto the scene in the late 1960s\, Bataan continues to pump out these sizzling beats by singing doo-wop–tinged\, Latin-laced favorites like the funky “Subway Joe” and “Ordinary Guy”. En alianza con Carnegie Hall Citywide\, El Museo se complace en presentar al cantante y tecladista oriundo de East Harlem\, Joe Bataan. El artista armó su primera banda en 1965 y poco después produjo la exitosa canción “Gypsy Woman” (Fania Records\, 1967).
