DESCRIPTION:Join us for an opening reception of INSIGHT: Moments captured by Bronx and East Harlem Teen Artists\, works created by El Museo’s Fall Teens in collaboration with artist Manuel Acevedo. Inspired by the artists featured in our recent exhibition Down These Mean Streets: Community and Place in Urban Photography\, and as a nod to famed author Piri Thomas\, our young artists turned to the familiarity of daily life to compose visually compelling expressions of their truth. The photographs poetically capture moments of transition and transformation through street scenes\, home life\, portraits of friends\, energetic murals and elements of nature. The camera served as an agent as an agent of illumination\, revelation and intimacy. \nFREE ADMISSION.
