Now in its 12th year\, this beloved event\, co-presented by El Museo del Barrio and the Museum of the City of New York\, celebrates the vibrant spirit of East Harlem at the top of Museum Mile. \nCelebrate Nuyorican culture with a night of art\, salsa music\, and a dance lesson presented in collaboration with The Salsa Project. Enjoy some friendly competition at the domino tables\, get creative at our art workshop station\, join free tours of our exhibition Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop\, savor food and drinks–brought to you by Artizen–and capture the memories of the night at our photo booth!  \nRegister here > \n  \nSCHEDULE OF THE DAY: \nArt Workshops \n6:00 PM \nJoin El Museo’s educators for a hands-on art-making workshop inspired by the current exhibition\, Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop. \nPhoto Booth \n6:00 – 9:00 PM \nStep into a vibrant photo booth experience designed in collaboration with artist and educator Marco Hermosillo\, inspired the exhibition Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop. Meet the artist\, connect with your friends and community\, and capture the energy of the night in a photo. \nFeel the Beat with DJ Andy “El Mas Bailable” \n6:00 – 7:30 PM \nHit the dance floor as DJ Andy “El Mas Bailable” brings the heat with a fiery set of old-school salsa classics. \nSalsa Lessons & Museum Exhibition Tours \n6:15 PM \nGet your groove on with salsa lessons led by TJ Pennant in a lively\, beginner-friendly dance session. Prefer to take in some art? Explore Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop with a guided tour led by educator Julia Justo and dive into the artist’s vibrant world of color\, form\, and storytelling. \nLive Percussion Set with DJ \n7:00 PM \nExperience the rhythm live as percussionist Ricky Rosa kicks off his first 30-minute set\, blending beats alongside a live DJ for an electrifying performance. \nA Second Look at Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop  \n7:15 PM \nJoin educator Julia Justo for a second guided walkthrough of Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop and experience the bold colors and layered stories that define this compelling exhibition. \nDJ Moka Takes the Stage \n7:30 – 9:00 PM \nDJ Moka will take over the turntables\, bringing a fresh wave of beats to keep the night moving and feet grooving. \nLive Percussion with Ricky Rosa & DJ Moka \n8:00 PM \nRicky Rosa returns for a second high-energy set\, this time teaming up with DJ Moka for a powerful fusion of live percussion and dance floor-ready rhythms. \nFinal Tour: Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop \n8:15 PM \nWrap up the evening with a final guided tour by Julia Justo\, offering one more chance to experience the vibrance of Candida Alvarez: Circle\, Point\, Hoop. \n\nSpecial thanks to New York City Council Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala for sponsoring this event\, \, as well as our partners at the Museum of the City of New York\, The Salsa Project\, and Artizen. \n \n  \n
