For 20 years, director William D. Caballero documented his Puerto Rican family through everyday moments, celebrations, and challenges. After experiencing profound loss, he and his mother turned to stop-motion animation, handcrafted figures, and home movies to rebuild the people and places they could no longer hold onto.
Blending documentary, animation, and deeply personal storytelling, TheyDream is a moving meditation on memory, grief, and resilience. Through the act of creation, Caballero and his mother discover how art can preserve the past while making space for healing.
