El Museo del Barrio partners with Visual AIDS for Day With(out) Art 2026 to present seeds in a dying colony, a screening of four newly commissioned short films exploring the ongoing HIV epidemic and the legacies of colonialism. Through movement, ritual, and storytelling, the films examine how systems of power shape access to care — and how artists reclaim the body, preserve memory, and affirm life.
Presented alongside Teddy Sandoval and the Butch Gardens School of Art, the program builds on the exhibition’s themes of queer community, cultural memory, and connection.
Featuring films by Edgar Hudson (Tanzania), Bruna Kury and Matheus Mello (Brazil/Spain), Sido Lansari (Morocco/France), and Micaela Cyrino (Brazil).
English and Spanish subtitles will be provided.
